Nawab Bugti’s threat forces people to migrate: Frontier Corps
QUETTA: People residing in Dera Bugti are leaving their native place while children are facing difficulties to get education due to threats being given by the area tribal chief, Nawab Mohammad Akbar Khan Bugti. A press release from the Frontier Corps issued here on Tuesday said that the influential tribal leaders of the area, including Nawab Bugti, has imposed a ban on Dera Bugti children not to get education at FC school. The parents of the children have been threatened not to send their children to the school otherwise they would themselves be responsible for the consequences, it added. The threat by Nawab Bugti has created harassment among the Dera Bugti people due to which they are migrating to other places. Three Hindu families have recently migrated to Quetta on Nov 6 last, it added. Like other parts of the country, the Dera Bugti people were also desirous to help their earthquake-hit brethren by contributing relief goods, but Nawab Mohammad Akbar Khan Bugti and other influential tribal leaders restricted them from doing so, the press release added. The Dera Bugti people wanted to include their donations in the ‘Karwan-i-Mohabbat Train’ which had left from Quetta for Rawalpindi a few days back, but they could not do so due to orders of Nawab Bugti. “The elements who remain selfish and avoid helping their compatriots at such a critical time are not at all mourning the incident”, it observed. It is worth mentioning here that the two relief trucks earlier dispatched from Dera Bugti to the affected areas had been arranged by Pakistan Petroleum Limited, the press release added. app
